The essential is invisible to the eyes

Outside, the sun was shining brightly, for everyone except Adrian.
His case was extremely rare; He was almost blind during the day, but not at night. And he wasn’t albino.
Until now, no other person in the world was known to suffer from this very rare disease, so since they noticed this anomaly when he was just a child, they nicknamed him “the dark child.” Observing the night and its eternal magic was frustrating for Adrián, he longed for daylight even though he did not know it. Medical specialists from all countries were interested in his daytime blindness and studied it, but they could not find the cause; The truth is that his family was desperate to find a cure for poor Adrián, who during the day (which seemed eternal) took refuge in his room, like a solitary prisoner, although as much as possible, he tried to concentrate. in the memory of his grandfather who always told him, “everything has a purpose in life and what for some is strange and even abnormal, for others is a gift that God gave us to fulfill a mission.”
Adrián’s case was gaining interest, and what for many was a curse gave him different opportunities, since the lack of one sense exacerbates the others. He completed his studies without difficulties at a night university, and due to his ability and intelligence, he received a scholarship. “There is no evil that does not come with good” say the people knew. Despite that, he continued with his dream of “seeing the light”; although there was he learned not to despair because of his condition and always found a motivation that drove him not to give up in the face of any difficulty.
Something that was difficult for him to understand was why other young people constantly complained about small things that were really unimportant.
The years passed and one day Adrián fell in love with a young woman who visited him often. He attended the parish every afternoon to give two hours of his time to anyone who needed company and he did more of two months that he stopped by Adrián’s house to chat for a while. Like him, Micaela pursued a dream, to see the light, Micaela was blind from birth. They shared afternoons and set goals, and although many did not understand that love in the dark, Micaela and Adrián were happy. That made one thing clear; Happiness can have several facets, but no excuses.
